10FTU Jager

A Japanese Swimbait for Hungry Pike

The 10FTU Jager is a quality swimbait from the workshop of largemouth bass specialist Ken Iyobe. Produced in Japan and hand-painted individually, every detail of this lure reflects serious craft. The first thing you'll notice is the specially shaped diving lip. It drives a pronounced, deliberate action and tight S-curves through the water, while doubling as a snag guard against rocks, branches and other underwater obstacles. The prominent rubber tail is another standout feature - it kicks enticingly with every movement, reinforcing the lure's natural swimming action. Originally designed for large largemouth bass, the Jager has since proven itself as an outstanding pike lure, with catches already recorded in German and Dutch waters. At just 57 g, there's no need for a specialist big bait rod - most standard pike rods will handle it comfortably.

Variable Action, Straightforward to Fish

The 10FTU Jager shows a degree of versatility depending on how you work it. A straight, steady retrieve produces a natural action in tight S-curves, and you can vary the pace from slow to fast. Alternatively, work the Jager with half-turns of the reel handle in a 'walk the dog' style. Thanks to its strong buoyancy, it stays up in the surface film and draws some breathtaking strikes.

Interchangeable Parts and BKK Components

One of the 10FTU Jager's more unusual features is the solid connection between its individual segments. It unscrews easily, allowing you to swap parts between lures and build your own colour combinations to suit the moment. The lure is completely silent - no rattle - which makes it well suited to wary, pressured predators. The remaining hardware lives up to Japanese quality standards throughout: BKK Black Nickel hooks in size #2 and BKK split rings complete the package and make the 10FTU Jager a genuine addition to any swimbait collection.
