Berkley PowerBait Smash

A Top Pike Lure with Intense Action

The Berkley PowerBait Smash is the updated version of the Sick Smash, keeping the same sizes and form factor but featuring new, fish-catching colour schemes. Available in 17 and 23 cm, the primary target is fairly obvious: pike. That said, it is also a very interesting option for other large predators, including big zander and even huchen. Its tight rolling action with an aggressively waving tail draws the attention of big predators quickly and provokes hard takes. The tried-and-tested PowerBait attractant that the PowerBait Smash carries plays a significant role here too - it not only triggers more bites, but also encourages fish to hold the lure longer, giving you more time to strike.

Rigging Options

The smaller size of the Berkley PowerBait Smash can certainly be fished on a large jig head, but experience has shown that soft lures of this size work better rigged shallow on a Shallow Rig or deeper on a Screw Head with a stinger. Either way, the PowerBait Smash comes into its own when set up like this. It works equally well for casting from the bank, from a boat, or for precise sharpshooting.
