Daiwa 26 BG LT

The BG with Airdrive Design Concept

The Daiwa 26 BG LT is the 2026 edition of the popular saltwater fixed spool reel that has also proved itself time and again in freshwater under demanding conditions. Compared to its predecessor, it incorporates several new technologies, most notably the Airdrive Design Concept. Central to this is the Airdrive Rotor, which is significantly lighter and reduces the weight of the front unit. This improves the overall balance of the reel, and the lighter rotor means start-up resistance is noticeably reduced. The 26 BG LT cranks with ease and precision, combining high sensitivity with a supremely smooth action. Maximum durability and retrieval power meet silky-smooth operation - effective and genuinely enjoyable to use.

Fewer Tangles, More Control

Another element of the Airdrive Design Concept on the Daiwa 26 BG LT is the Airdrive Bail. Its well-thought-out design effectively prevents line tangles both on the cast and during retrieval. It is also optimised for fishing in crosswinds or with slack line methods, supporting maximum lure control. The ABS Aluminium Long Cast Spool is ideally suited to saltwater demands and delivers long casting distances. A rubber ring on the spool centre prevents smooth braided lines from slipping.

Strong, Robust, Built to Last

The Daiwa 26 BG LT is built for hard fights and demanding sessions. As with the predecessor model, the handle screws directly into the Tough Digigear gearbox, creating a direct connection with a twist-free, play-free fit. This direct power transfer delivers enormous retrieval power - exactly what you need when tackling hard-fighting saltwater predators. The ATD Tough Drag system matches that strength. This upgraded drag features carbon fibre drag washers, providing higher drag force, making the reel exceptionally resilient during long, hard fights, and its smooth, jerk-free performance absorbs sudden runs without drama. The 26 BG LT is a fixed spool reel for salt and freshwater alike, built for tough use and delivering when conditions get extreme.
