A Sea Bass Rod Series with JDM Heritage
The Shimano Dialuna Spinning Inshore is a rod series drawn from Shimano's JDM range and designed specifically as a sea bass rod series. Two Shimano-exclusive technologies, Spiral X and Hi-Power X, give the blank a character that is both exceptionally light and extremely powerful - more than enough to handle the most aggressive sea bass. The rod's outstanding sensitivity is further amplified by the Monocoque grip, letting you feel every twitch of the lure, every contact with underwater obstacles, and even the most tentative of bites. The Taftec tip, built from pre-tensioned T3500 fibres, adds to this: it is particularly light, fast, and highly sensitive, yet significantly stronger than conventional tips.
Exceptional Casting Performance and a Pleasure in the Fight
The blank of the Shimano Dialuna Spinning Inshore loads progressively during the cast and recovers with an extremely fast return speed. This combination reduces vibration and therefore line friction through the rings. Those rings are Fuji K-Type SiC guides - already exceptionally smooth in their own right - and together with the blank they form the foundation for the excellent casting performance this series delivers. You can achieve enormous casting distances and reach fish holding well out from the bank. Although conceived for sea bass, the rod performs strongly across saltwater predator fishing in general, with outstanding fish-fighting characteristics that absorb runs cleanly and reduce the chance of losing fish.
A Highly Versatile Model
The Shimano Dialuna Spinning Inshore S86ML is a 2.59 m sea bass spinning rod with a casting weight of 6 - 25 g. It is an extremely versatile rod that gives you a wide range of lure options when targeting sea bass. It handles plugs, twitchbaits, and sinking stickbaits in the 7 to 12 cm range with ease, as well as surface lures in the 12 - 20 g bracket. Jig fishing is equally well catered for, whether you are working metal jigs or soft lures on a jig head - and here the rod will handle considerably more casting weight, with the practical upper limit pushing up to 35 g.
A Strong Option for Heavy Finesse Perch Fishing in Fresh Water
That versatility, combined with the excellent sensitivity and outstanding fish-fighting properties, also makes the Shimano Dialuna Spinning Inshore S86ML a compelling choice for perch anglers in fresh water. If you want to fish heavy finesse rigs - heavy Carolina, kickback, or slide rigs - at long range for perch, this rod is a top option. It gets the weight out with ease while still delivering enormous sensitivity, letting you detect even cautious bites at distance out on the lake. A rod for perch in the sea and in fresh water alike, and a strong pick for any perch angler.
