Fishus Espetit

Stickbait with a Sand Eel Head

The Fishus Espetit is part of the 'Fishus by Lurenzo' series, a collaboration between Fishus and lure designer Isaac Lorenzo. This stickbait features a highly distinctive, sharply tapered head that mimics the profile of a sand eel - a favoured prey of saltwater predators. Its compact shape and excellent weight distribution make it exceptionally easy to cast long distances with real precision, and it is straightforward to work in a wide variety of ways. Retrieve it with soft twitches and short pauses, letting it glide across the surface, or push the pace and walk the dog at higher frequency for a tight, controlled side-to-side action. Whatever the speed, the flanks flash enticingly at every change of direction. On top of that, 2 internal air chambers produce bubble trails - the faster you retrieve, the more pronounced the effect. The Fishus Espetit has proven itself in saltwater and is equally effective on a wide range of freshwater predators, including perch, chub and asp. Any surface lure angler should have one in the lure box.

How to Fish It

Work the Espetit with gentle twitches and short pauses to let it glide across the surface, or switch to a faster, high-frequency walk-the-dog retrieve for a tighter zigzag action. At higher speeds it stays on a shorter leash, giving you precise control over the strike zone. Either way, the flanks flash at every turn - and the quicker you retrieve, the more aggressively those bubble trails fire.
