Crankbait with a Coffin Bill
The Livingston Lures Vapor 50 is a crankbait from the Tournament Series, measuring 5.08 cm in length and weighing 11.34 g, fitted with a Coffin Bill. The name says it all: the bill's rounded yet angular outline genuinely resembles a coffin. In practical terms, it sits between a conventional round bill and a square bill - both in action and in how it handles snags and structure. Depending on the angle at which it contacts an obstacle, the lure either glides around it sideways or levers up and over. The bill itself is made from FR4 material, making it extremely tough and durable, while its slim profile lets the crankbait dive down quickly. The action is a tight, fast-vibrating wobble - livelier than a square bill, more composed than a round bill. That middle ground means this crankbait covers a wide range of moods and conditions.
The Big Advantage: EBS Technology Sound
As notable as the Coffin Bill's influence on the action is, the EBS Technology takes things further. It gives the Livingston Lures Vapor 50 a distinctive sound signal - either an imitation of baitfish via EBS Shad Sound or an imitation of crayfish via EBS Craw Sound, depending on the colour. Predators respond strongly to sound, and the EBS system draws their attention from more than three times the distance of a silent crankbait. Even compared to conventional rattling crankbaits, fish still react at roughly twice the distance. The result is that you can cover water more efficiently and reach more fish with every cast.
An Extra Edge with Forward-Facing Sonar
Beyond the sound, the EBS Technology offers a further advantage when using live sonar. The materials used in the system enhance the lure's return signal, making the Livingston Lures Vapor 50 easier to track on your fish finder screen and allowing for more controlled, precise presentation. This makes it well suited to sharpshooting specific structures or working targeted spots with accuracy. The lure is Forward Facing Sonar Certified.
Additional Rattles
Alongside the EBS Technology, the Livingston Lures Vapor 50 also carries additional rattles for extra sound - particularly useful if the EBS system battery eventually runs low after extended use. The battery is designed to last for years, and you can extend its life further by drying the lure thoroughly after use and storing it in a dry place. The system only activates on contact with water, so it draws no power when dry.
