The Deep Tail Dancer is one of the most well-known plugs from Rapala and is particularly well suited to trolling.

At 90 mm, it presents an attractive target for a wide range of species. Because it is built from balsa wood, the lure has a strong buoyancy - if it makes contact with rocks or the bottom, you can simply pause the retrieve and let it float up and over the obstacle. That same material also gives the Deep Tail Dancer its remarkably lively, almost 'dancing' action, which is exactly where the name comes from. Trolled behind a boat, it holds a consistent depth of 6 m, keeping it reliably in the right zone in a way that trolled soft lures simply cannot match. It works just as well as a cast lure, and beyond zander and pike it will also account for big perch.

A Compact Trolling Lure for All-Round Use

If you are after a smaller trolling lure that covers a wide range of species, is cleanly finished and comes armed with sharp treble hooks, the Deep Tail Dancer is a solid choice.
