Rapala Ripstop 9 cm in Detail

The Rapala Ripstop is a slim, versatile minnow that works for all manner of freshwater predators. Its split bill design places no limits on your retrieve style, giving you plenty of room to experiment with different presentations.

Work it with aggressive twitching and it produces extreme side-to-side darting, with the holographic inner foil firing off sharp flash reflections on every lunge. Let the line go slack and the lure stops dead - an instant, convincing pause that triggers takes. Switch to a steady retrieve on a tight line and the Dual Control System Hard Boot Tail takes over, generating a rolling 'Wobble'n'Roll' action that works just as well. The VMC Black Nickel treble hooks are needle-sharp and hook fish cleanly.

How to Fish It

The Ripstop is built for aggressive twitching - snap the rod tip hard, let the line drop slack and watch the lure stop on a knife edge. You can just as easily slow things right down and wind it back on a tight line, letting the 'Wobble'n'Roll' action do the work. Both approaches suit freshwater predator fishing equally well.
