Rapala Twitchin' Rap 12 cm

Rapala Twitchin' Rap - A Jerkbait Built for Pike

If you enjoyed fishing the Rapala Glidin' Rap, you'll take to this one immediately. The Twitchin' Rap features a refined action over its predecessor and casts an extraordinary distance.

Specs:

• Length: 120 mm
• Weight: 53 g
• Type: jerkbait
• Constructed from abachi wood
• Fitted with VMC Coastal Black treble hooks in size 2/0
• Slow sinking
• Target species: pike

The Twitchin' Rap is built for shallow water and fishing over weed in spring and summer. Its abachi wood body gives it a precise balance and an aggressively responsive action. The VMC Coastal Black hooks deliver confident hook-ups and are highly resistant to corrosion. At 53 g with an aerodynamic profile, this lure carries a long way on the cast - and it's still comfortable to fish on lighter pike tackle.

How to Fish It

Once you've made your cast, the Twitchin' Rap can be worked in several ways. On a straight retrieve it tracks back in a sweeping S-curve - a reliable approach for covering large areas of water or for anglers new to jerkbait fishing. For a more active presentation, animate it through the rod by introducing sharp pulls into the slack line during the retrieve; even light twitches of the rod tip send it darting hard from side to side. If you prefer a longer rod, you can achieve the same effect by accelerating through the reel handle in short, quick bursts to bring the lure to life.
