The 26 Zodias Casting Series
The Shimano 26 Zodias Casting are the baitcasting rods in the hugely popular Zodias range, updated and further refined for 2026. This JDM rod series was originally designed for bass fishing in Japan, but has since received targeted adaptations for European freshwater predators - making these already excellent rods even better suited to perch, pike, zander & co. Thanks to their improved balance and low weight, the 26 Zodias Casting rods fish very comfortably, staying fatigue-free even after hours on the bank. At the same time, their exceptional sensitivity allows precise lure control - you feel every movement and, above all, every bite.
Hi-Power X for More Power and Longer Casts
The Shimano 26 Zodias Casting are built on high-quality carbon blanks featuring Hi-Power X Carbon technology. This technology reduces blank twist, improves casting accuracy and optimises power transfer - your casts go further and land more precisely, while control during lure presentation and the fight is noticeably improved. The technology also reinforces the backbone, ensuring solid strikes at full casting distance. The Fuji Alconite guide set further contributes to outstanding casting performance, balancing the rod perfectly and working seamlessly with fine braid.
Maximum Sensitivity for Precise Lure Control and Bite Detection
At the handle, the Shimano 26 Zodias Casting combines a Carbon Monocoque grip with a Ci4+ reel seat - a pairing that not only keeps the overall weight low but also increases sensitivity considerably. Even the faintest vibrations transfer directly to your hand, letting you detect cautious bites in deep water or in current.
Striking Design and Outstanding Value
The Shimano 26 Zodias Casting feature a distinctive stealth matt finish. The uncoated blank not only reduces weight but looks the part too - combined with the unmistakable Japanese design, these rods are as good to look at as they are to fish. The performance speaks for itself, and it is no surprise that this series has earned such an enormous following. Add in the outstanding value for money - these are rods that perform well above their price bracket - and you have a serious choice for any baitcasting fan.
