Sensitivity and Precision in a Single Braid
The Shimano Kairiki 8+ is an 8-strand braid with a reduced line diameter. The exceptionally soft Izanas SF600 fibres from Toyobo Co. have been woven extra tightly together - and each individual PE strand is already 8x stronger than a piano string. The result is a line that holds up to any predator while still delivering the sensitivity you need. Shimano's proprietary weaving process, S-EBT (Shimano Enhanced Body Technology), produces a line that feels like silk and glides just as smoothly through the rings. That translates directly into long casts and noticeably improved precision. The smooth surface of the Shimano Kairiki 8+ also keeps noise transmission to a minimum.
A Wide Range of Options - and Silicon-Coated
The Shimano Kairiki 8+ is available in a wide range of strengths and colours, so you'll find the right line for every technique and target species. Whether you want to pair it with a finesse set-up or use it for jigging, the broad selection covers every need. Thanks to the impressive breaking strain, it can handle big fish just as well. Colour-wise, you have a real choice: if you want to keep an eye on your line and need high visibility, Mantis Green is the one to go for. If you prefer something more discreet, Steel Gray is the better option. A high-quality silicone coating protects the braid against water and dirt ingress, helping it last as long as possible.

Top braided with high load capacity The Shimano Kairiki 8+ impresses with its very smooth surface, high abrasion resistance and strong load capacity with a small diameter. It is excellent to throw, runs quietly through the rings and barely absorbs any water. Absolutely reliable for spin fishing for pike & zander — clear purchase recommendation!

Extremely robust yet supple string. You can clearly feel the coating on the string. Smooth and quiet throw-off guaranteed. Perfect for trout/perch fishing, if you still want a decent reserve for trailers, etc. Absolutely recommended!

After several years of “Daiwa J Braid 8” I bought this string on sale. I'd say I don't notice any difference in strength. Both are of very high quality and absolutely recommended without restrictions. When it comes to color fidelity, this string is clear before the J Braid. No colorful fingers when rewinding. In short, the best string I've ever had.

Put it on my thickest spinning combo and it's extremely easy to throw despite the thicker one.

Can be knotted as soft as butter and thrown surprisingly well. I haven't had any experience with such a thick mesh so far, but I'm very pleasantly surprised.
