Sportex Nova RS-3 (Casting)

The Third Generation of the Nova RS-3 Casting Series

The third generation of the Sportex Nova RS-3 Casting Series brings a range of baitcasting rods built specifically for perch fishing, built around slim, lightweight blanks made from highly resilient Toray High Performance Carbon. These rods deliver precise feedback and a fast action, while still carrying substantial backbone for maximum control. The sensitive tip picks up even the most subtle bites, and the more powerful models in the range also perform exceptionally well for targeted zander fishing. The rods feature a characteristic medium action, with the bend running smoothly from the tip through to the mid-section before transitioning into a firm lower blank. This specific bend profile reliably prevents hooks from pulling free in the soft mouth of a perch and makes landing fish a composed, controlled affair. Combined with their high recovery speed, these rods also offer strong casting performance. All in all, the series is a sound choice for dedicated perch anglers as well as those targeting zander.

Quality Construction at an Attractive Price

The third-generation Sportex Nova RS-3 is built on premium Toray High Performance Carbon blanks and has been developed precisely with the demands of serious perch anglers in mind. To keep weight down and preserve the fine tip action, the manufacturer leaves the upper section of the blank uncoated, retaining the material in its natural state. A lightweight SiC ring setup supports the rod's responsiveness and, paired with thin braid, delivers excellent casting dynamics. The build is completed by an ergonomic EVA split grip, which promotes balanced handling over long sessions. A solid ECS reel seat keeps the baitcaster firmly locked in place under any load. For moving between spots, a discreet Seaguide D-Hook keeper secures your lure without interfering with your grip on the blank in any way. The series continues a tradition of quality craftsmanship, combining technical refinement with a competitive price.
