SPRO Freestyle Dropnet Xtra 2.0

A Clever Landing Net for Urban Predator Fishing

Anyone fishing for predators in cities and urban environments knows how often you're casting from elevated positions - and how essential a good drop net becomes in those situations. Spro's Dropnet Xtra 2.0 is a finely considered piece of tackle that addresses every practical challenge of this style of fishing. The original was already excellent; the 2.0 builds on it with improvements across the board.

The net itself is rubber-coated, protecting the fish's slime layer and preventing unpleasant odours from lingering in the mesh. The net cords feature reflective strips so you can easily locate the net when fishing at night with a head torch. The weight pocket for ballasting the net has been redesigned to keep all additional weights securely in place.

A particularly useful addition is the 'Release' function: a hook-and-loop strap allows you to flatten the net so that predators can find their way out sideways rather than swimming back down into the mesh - making releasing your catch noticeably quicker and easier. This is especially handy wherever size limits apply and both undersized and oversized fish must be returned.

The flexible frame means you can simply twist the net down to a compact shape, and it stows neatly in the included waterproof carry bag - a transport solution that carried over from the original for good reason.
