Strike Pro The Pig Shad 9" (23 cm)

Pig Shad 9": Big Pike on the Cards

The Strike Pro Pig Shad 9" is a pike lure that belongs in every serious big-pike angler's tackle box. What sets this 23 cm shad apart is the powerful yet slow action of its oversized paddle tail, which produces an extraordinarily unique swimming motion. The Pig Shad rolls and sways with a heavy, side-to-side action that creates a convincingly lifelike impression of an injured fish - an effect further enhanced by the excellent mass ratio between the body and the distinctive pig-nose head.

How to Fish It

You can work this big bait at virtually any speed, and it performs throughout the entire retrieve range. That said, an extremely slow retrieve is where it really comes into its own. When the Strike Pro Pig Shad 9" begins to roll and the head kicks out at the lowest possible speed, pike find it almost impossible to ignore. Build in brief pauses during the retrieve and you'll make it even more effective. The Pig Shad is available in a wide range of colours, so you can match the conditions on any water. It comes in five sizes in total - this 23 cm (9 inch) version for big pike, plus variants at 15, 18, 20 and 26 cm. Every size is a first-rate pike lure.
