The Pig Shad Tournament in the 18 cm Size
Facts:
- Length: 18 cm
- Weight: 30 g
- Pack contents: 2 pieces
- Target species: pike, zander, wels catfish
The popular Pig Shad is now available in an 18 cm version - the latest addition to this proven classic.
The Tournament variant was developed to fill the gap between the Pig Shad Nano (15 cm) and the Pig Shad Junior (20 cm). The result is a shad that, thanks to its compact size, tempts a large number of fish into taking, while still being fishable on lighter tackle such as a zander rod. And it's not just the length that sets the Tournament apart: it features a deeper dorsal slot and an additional belly slot, making it an even better fit for use on an offset hook.
True to form, the Pig Shad Tournament runs with a pronounced rolling action that no pike can resist.
How to Fish It
If you want to fish in weed with a weedless rig, or you're after a slightly smaller Pig Shad for lighter pike fishing, the Tournament is exactly what you need.
The Pig Shad Tournament 18 cm Red Tiger
Very good, but... Great bait... actually. Run perfectly on the shallow rig. Catchability is well-known and durability is also good. But two little things bother me a bit: the stench is a bomb when you remove it from the pack. Of course gumfish smell like plastic, but the pigshads are another house number. And the decorations with glitter: as soon as you touch the dongers, your hands sparkle. The stuff then gets into the water as microplastic... you can loosen that in other ways or incorporate it into the bait better.
The Pig Shad Tournament 18 cm Red Tiger
Super bait top bait, is also known from various video productions. However, when the SHALLOW screws are screwed in, the eyes fall off. I noticed that these are applied to the color print instead of the rubber. Scrape off the color print and stick eyes back on the rubber then keeps it bombproof. Unfortunately, a small, annoying quality aspect of an otherwise mega good and high-quality bait. Great and innovative colors:)

The Pig Shad Tournament 18 cm Spotted Bullhead
Great bait with a great run. However, after just a few throws, the eyes come off. Therefore, one point deduction.
