Stroft GTP Typ S (Silver Grey) / 150 m

Stroft lines have earned a strong reputation among anglers in Germany and beyond, and the GTP Typ S sits at the top of the range.

Exceptionally Smooth Braid

The Stroft GTP Typ S is already an exceptionally high-quality line, but in its silver-grey colour it takes smoothness to another level - so smooth, in fact, that it feels remarkably close to mono on the retrieve. It is even smoother than the Stroft GTP Typ S in yellow-green, which is also available from us. That extra-smooth surface does, however, make it slightly more susceptible to abrasion compared with the yellow-green version, so the silver-grey Stroft GTP Typ S is particularly well suited to snag-free fishing - from a boat, float tube or kayak, for instance, or from the bank where obstacles such as deadwood, shells or rock edges are minimal. Thanks to its surface, it is a particularly quiet line that also delivers excellent casting properties. Across the entire GTP Typ S range, the lines are very round, tightly braided, and combine extremely low stretch with very high breaking strain. The 'S', incidentally, stands for Smooth - and the name really does say it all.

A Specialist Braiding Process and a Specialist Material

Achieving that extraordinary smoothness requires two things: a specialist braiding process and a specialist material. The Stroft GTP Typ S Silbergrau is made from extremely fine, high-grade Ultra-Peak UHMWPE fibres, braided using what Stroft calls the multi-strand process. In this process, the individual filaments are distributed across a particularly high number of strands, which increases the braiding angle. That wider angle reduces the degree to which the fibres are bent, resulting in higher breaking strain compared with comparable lines - all with an absolutely smooth surface. And there is no coating involved: the Stroft GTP Typ S Silbergrau is a pure braid with no additional jacket, which means the smoothness lasts longer. This is a line for anglers who will accept nothing but the very best.
