Jackall Deracoup - A Legend Among Spin Tail Jigs

The Jackall Deracoup 14 g is a spin tail jig (also known as a jig spinner or spinjig) that starts vibrating intensely even at slow retrieve speeds. Where most comparable spin tail jigs produce movement only from the blade, the Deracoup vibrates through its entire body. This generates powerful pressure waves that predators detect through their lateral line. As the lure rolls and flashes, the finish catches the light continuously - an additional visual trigger that drives sight-orientated predators such as perch wild.

A common problem with spin tail jigs from other manufacturers is the hook catching on the blade. Jackall solved this on the Deracoup with a small swivel between the body and the blade, so the lure almost never tumbles during the cast and the hook stays clear at all times. The robust construction will also appeal to street fishers - the odd mistimed cast into a bridge or wall is something this lure can handle.

At 2.8 cm and 14 g, it fishes comfortably on light rods.

Target Species

The Deracoup covers a wide range of target species. It comes into its own for perch fishing, where its ability to cover large areas of water quickly makes it an outstanding search bait.

Asp, chub, ide and trout are all viable targets too. When fishing for asp, a fast retrieve just below the surface is the recommended approach.

As the name suggests, the lure can also be jigged along the bottom or through the mid-water column. The Deracoup stays active on the drop as well, provoking takes throughout the entire fall.

Tips & Tricks

Small and understated at first glance, the Deracoup punches well above its appearance. Its range of applications and retrieve styles is genuinely broad.

Whether you're targeting trout on a small stream, asp and chub on the main river, or perch on a little woodland lake - this spin tail jig performs in every situation.

Work your way through the different retrieves to find what's working on the day. A steady wind, jigging at various depths, or a straight retrieve broken up with short pauses - these subtle differences in presentation can make all the difference.
