How to Fish It

You can catch fish on a spin tail jig with a simple straight retrieve, but to add extra life to the presentation, work in irregular pauses. When you stop the lure, it flutters down like a wounded fish - this falling phase is often when bites come. Once it touches the bottom, you can also rip it back towards the surface with a fast retrieve, which mimics a fleeing baitfish and can trigger a response from predators that ignored the slower approach.
