A Heavyweight Spin Tail Jig for Big Predators

At 35 g and 10 cm in length, this is a serious lure aimed squarely at the biggest predators in the water.

Build Quality and Fish-Catching Details

The Originals 35 g is finished to a high standard throughout. The oversized eyes give predators a natural focal point to attack, while a sharp size 1 double hook ensures an instant hookset and keeps the fish pinned throughout the fight. True to the spin tail jig format, SpinMad has fitted a Colorado spinner blade on a barrel swivel - this blade throws out intense flash and vibration, which, depending on water clarity and light conditions, can be a real edge.

How to Fish It

Even a straight, steady retrieve will catch fish on a spin tail jig, but varying the pace pays off. Work in irregular pauses: when the lure stops, it flutters down like an injured fish, and that falling phase is when most bites come. Once it touches bottom, rip it back up towards the surface at speed to imitate a fleeing prey fish.

The Originals 35 g is particularly well suited to targeting pike. You can work it on a slow troll or go vertical with it - either way, the lure generates tremendous pressure in the water, pulling pike in from a considerable distance.
