The Ultralight Jigmaster
At a lure weight of 8 g and a lure length of 34 mm, this spin tail jig punches well above its size. It sits comfortably alongside perch lures, asp lures, and trout lures - and the odd pike won't turn its nose up at this lively little lure either.
Thoughtful Details and Quality Construction
The SpinMad Jigmaster earns its reputation through high-quality construction throughout. The large line eye accommodates even the sturdiest snap swivels without any fuss. The oversized eyes give a predator a clear aiming point to target on the strike. The sturdy treble hook is fitted on a robust split ring and features needle-sharp points for a reliable hookset. The Colorado spinner blade, mounted on a barrel swivel, is hammered - breaking up the reflection of incoming sunlight in a way that can give you a small edge depending on the angle of the sun and how coloured the water is.
How to Fish It
Spin tail jigs are more versatile than they might first appear. Thanks to the fast sink rate, you can target virtually any depth in the water column for predators, depending on the current.
A steady retrieve keeps the Jigmaster at your chosen depth and lets you work through different areas of the water systematically. Gradually slowing the retrieve causes the lure to sink like an exhausted baitfish drifting towards the bottom. Going the other way, after letting it sink to the bottom, you can trigger a reaction by winding fast to send it rocketing back up towards the surface like a fleeing fry.
You can add extra action by twitching or jerking the lure during the retrieve. This makes the metal lure dart sharply in the chosen direction, closely mimicking the erratic escape behaviour of small fish.

Super workmanship, as usual from Spinmad. The paint is great, the spinner blade or swivel runs smoothly. Water testing is still pending, but for me it is questionable why the wonderful twin hook concept of the original is not being used here, especially when it is advertised for shallow waters.
