Jackall Deracoup 21 g / 3/4 oz / Spin Tail Jig

Jackall Deracoup – The Spin Tail Jig That Means Business

The Jackall Deracoup at 21 g is a spin tail jig (also known as a tailspinner or spinjig) built for deeper water and breezy conditions. Even the lightest pull sets it vibrating - and unlike most tailspinners, where the vibration comes solely from the blade, the entire body resonates too. That sends out a wall of pressure waves that predators pick up on their lateral line, with the lure's finish flashing repeatedly to add a visual trigger on top.

Hook tangles on the cast are a well-known weak point of many spin tail jigs - the treble catches the blade eye mid-flight and the lure runs foul. Jackall solved this on the Deracoup by fitting an additional swivel between the body and the blade, keeping everything running true every cast. The hardware throughout is built to take punishment: clipping the lure against a bridge, a wall or any other obstacle will rarely cause any damage. That robustness makes it a genuine asset for street fishing.

At 3.2 cm and 21 g, it casts cleanly on light tackle and fishes just as comfortably on a light rod as on something heavier.

Target Species

The Deracoup covers a wide range of species. It really comes into its own for perch, where its ability to cover large areas of water quickly makes it an effective search lure.

Asp, chub, ide and trout are all fair game too, and pike will take it without hesitation - so in any water with pike present, always use a wire trace.

For asp, a high-speed retrieve just beneath the surface has proved particularly effective.

You can also work it on the bottom or through mid-water with a jigging retrieve. During the sink phase, the Deracoup flutters enticingly and picks up bites on the drop as well.

How to Fish It

Despite its compact size, the Deracoup is a versatile fish-catcher. Work through different retrieve styles and see what the fish want on the day - a steady, constant wind-in, jigging through different water columns, or a standard retrieve broken up with short pauses can all make the difference. Small adjustments to your presentation often tip the balance, whatever water you're fishing.
