Jackall Maekon

A Jointed Swimbait with an Innovative Hinge System

The Jackall Maekon from the Jackall Design Serie is a two-piece jointed swimbait available in 2 sizes. It features the Mono Flex Joint System - a purpose-built hinge mechanism that gives the bait greater freedom of movement and noticeably improved swimming action. The rear section produces a subtly delayed rolling motion driven by the tail fin, which triggers predators hard and draws aggressive strikes. Alongside that action, the increased water displacement and lifelike tail fin design add to what makes this hard lure so effective.

Stop & Go or Steady Retrieve - Many Routes to Pike and Largemouth Bass

You can work the Jackall Maekon in several ways. On a stop & go retrieve, it dips down on the pause before rising back up - like an exhausted baitfish that looks like easy, worthwhile prey. Alternatively, wind it back steadily: whether you go very slowly or at pace, big predators find it hard to resist watching the Maekon swim past. The intense wobbling action is comparable to that of large crankbaits, and pike and largemouth bass are the primary target species - though other large predators will happily take it too. The hits are hard.

Fishing It Deeper with John Weights

The Maekon runs shallow - very shallow. With a running depth of 0-0.3 m, it qualifies as a subsurface swimbait. If you want to get it deeper into the water column, you can add John Weights to the belly. These clip-on weights let you convert the floating swimbait into a suspending or even sinking lure, putting it in front of predators holding deeper that have no interest in coming up to the surface to feed. That versatility, combined with good casting properties, also makes it a solid option as a search bait. For a swimbait, it casts well, retrieves easily, and it stands out - drawing hard, aggressive takes. All of that makes the Jackall Maekon a strong choice when you're covering water and looking for active fish.
