Gunki Hedorah 75 F

A Popper for Plopping and Walk-the-Dog

The Gunki Hedorah 75F is the larger variant of the Gunki Hedorah 55F. This bigger model measures 7.5 cm and weighs 9.95 g. It's a surface lure that impresses with excellent casting properties and a very stable swimming position - and it gives you more than one way to work it.

The most straightforward retrieve is a series of sharp twitches that make the lure pop at the surface. Near potential holding spots, it pays to work in longer pauses. Predators often come out of cover and still commit to the lure - but if you retrieve too fast, the lure moves beyond the strike zone before the fish can follow through. The Gunki Hedorah 75F also handles walk-the-dog style retrieves like a stickbait, and when you want to cover large areas of water, combining walk-the-dog with popping really comes into its own. That mix of side-to-side action and a loud pop regularly triggers aggressive strikes. Gunki also recommends fishing it in a pure walk-the-dog style without any popping - especially for pike. There are days when Esox respond better to less commotion and more gliding action.
