Jackall Deracoup 7 g / 1/4 oz / Spin Tail Jig

Jackall Deracoup - A Classic Spin Tail Jig

The Deracoup is a compact spin tail jig - also known as a spinjig - that starts vibrating with the lightest pull. What sets it apart from other lures in this category is that it's not just the blade at the tail doing the work: the entire body vibrates, sending out a continuous stream of pressure waves that predators pick up through their lateral line. On top of that, the lure flashes repeatedly as it moves, creating a strong visual trigger alongside the vibration.

A common problem with spin tail jigs is the hook tangling in the eye of the spinner blade. Jackall solved this on the Deracoup by fitting a small swivel between the body and the blade, which prevents the lure from rolling over itself and keeps the hook well clear of the blade at all times. The components are also built to last - the lure shrugs off awkward casts into bridges, walls and other obstacles remarkably well, which makes it a real asset for street fishing in particular.

At 2.6 cm and 7 g, it's light enough to cast and fish comfortably on light tackle.

Target Species

The Deracoup covers a wide range of target species. It's especially effective for perch fishing, where you can cover large areas of water quickly and efficiently.

It also works well for asp, chub, ide and trout. When targeting asp, a fast, steady retrieve just beneath the surface is the recommended approach.

As the name suggests, you can also jig the Deracoup along the bottom or through mid-water. It works just as enticingly on the drop during the sink phases, drawing bites as it falls.

Tips & Tricks

At first glance, the Deracoup looks like an understated little lure - but there's far more to it than meets the eye. It covers a huge range of scenarios and responds well to all kinds of retrieves.

Whether you're working a stream for trout, targeting asp and chub in a river, or searching for perch on a small lake - this spin tail jig handles it all.

Work your way through the different retrieve styles: a steady, continuous wind; jigging at various depths; or a standard retrieve broken up with short pauses. On some days, these small variations in presentation make all the difference.
