Megabass Sleeper Gill 8 cm / 21 g

Sunfish Imitation with Weedless Hook Protection

Sunfish have established themselves in many waters, giving big perch and pike a familiar food source to key in on. The Megabass Sleeper Gill is a highly realistic imitation of a sunfish - specifically a bluegill - though its body shape also resembles that of a crucian carp. This 8 cm swimbait weighing 21 g comes ready to fish straight out of the packet: hook and weight are already moulded into the body, so you simply tie it to your line and start casting. The soft dorsal fin conceals the hook and acts as a weedguard, letting you work the lure through weed beds and aquatic vegetation without constantly snagging. When a predator takes, the semi-hollow body compresses and releases the hook cleanly for a solid hookset. The Megabass Sleeper Gill also has a distinctive sink action: rather than diving head-first like a shad on a jig head, it sinks belly-first, a result of the low centre of gravity created by the integrated weight. This produces a natural, convincing action that draws strikes even in spots where other swimbaits fail to get a response.
