Megabass X-80 Trick Darter

Megabass sits firmly at the top end of the hard lure market, and the X-80 Trick Darter is a fine example of why.

A Compact Twitchbait with Oneten Technology

The Megabass X-80 Trick Darter is a relatively compact twitchbait at 8 cm, but there is considerably more to it than its size suggests. Inside, it carries the same technology as the legendary Vision Oneten: the Tungsten Multi-Way Moving Balancer System. These mobile tungsten weights deliver exceptional casting distance with outstanding accuracy and refine the action in the water - something that really comes into its own when you're twitching.

Although this lure is often categorised as a jerkbait, it truly excels when fished on the twitch. Work it with short, sharp rod movements and it darts aggressively through the water, then quivers to a halt on the pause - a pronounced darting action that triggers reaction strikes. That said, it is so precisely balanced that a straight steady retrieve gives you a superb rolling action, and fish will take it that way too. Twitched or cranked, its unusually deep flanks for a minnow profile reflect more light, displace more water and make the bait appear larger and more substantial - just the kind of target a predator considers worth chasing. Expect an immediate response.

Designed, like most Megabass hard lures, with largemouth bass in mind, the X-80 Trick Darter produces equally well on the usual suspects: perch, zander, largemouth bass and asp. Don't be surprised if other predators join the party - few can resist it.
