A V-Tail Shad Built on Symmetry

The OSP HP Minnow is a V-tail shad available in 2 sizes that stands apart from the crowd through a set of carefully refined features. Most notably, it has a symmetrical body - there is no fixed top or bottom. With two-tone colour schemes, this opens up an interesting option: try fishing it either way round to see which orientation gets more bites. With Green Pumpkin/Chartreuse, for instance, you can test whether fish respond better to the chartreuse side facing up or down. Even with single-colour HP Minnows, the symmetry pays off in a practical way. After a few fish, one side can stretch slightly and the hook may no longer hold cleanly - simply flip the lure over and carry on fishing.

A Wide Slit for Offset Hooks and Straight-Running Action

Another defining feature of the OSP HP Minnow is the large slit in the rear centre of the body. With this slit, you only need to push the offset hook through the head, then feed the hook shank through the slit and bury the hook point in the body. The result is a very straight, even hook set that gives the lure a perfectly straight glide through the water. At higher retrieve speeds, water flowing through the slit causes the rear half of the body to kick strongly from side to side - you can see this clearly in the video below.

V-Tail with Webbing for Strong Vibration

The webbing on the V-tail of the OSP HP Minnow really comes into its own on a drop shot rig, but it performs just as well on a range of other rigs such as the Neko rig. Even the lightest twitch is enough to set the tail vibrating and unlock the lure's remarkably effective action. This makes it deadly for perch, zander and largemouth bass.

Versatile and Effective Across a Wide Range of Rigs

The OSP HP Minnow works across a broad range of presentations. You can fish it on most finesse rigs - Carolina rig, Texas rig, Neko rig - on a drop shot rig, or jig it along the bottom on a jig head. It also makes a very effective trailer on a skirted jig and is well worth trying there. On the fall, the lure tracks straight as an arrow as it sinks slowly to the bottom. The moment you add any input - twitching, shaking, a subtle twitch - it responds with a very pronounced, reactive action that will draw bites even from passive fish that are not actively feeding. A fantastic soft plastic that will particularly appeal to finesse anglers.
