The Big Jig Spinner for Big Pike
Jig spinners catch pike - that much is well established. The Fisch & Fang Hechtgranate takes things a step further. On top of the enticing action you'd expect from a jig spinner, it brings genuine size and bulk to the table. The body is made from the same material used in hard lures such as the Zanderkönig, which gives it volume and a higher weight while still maintaining a moderate sink rate. That combination means each size and weight can be fished at its optimal depth:
- M 30 g = 0 - 2 m
- M 40 g = 1 - 3 m
- XL 50 g = 2 - 5 m
- XL 60 g = 3 - 8 m
There's a Hechtgranate to suit every situation.
Handmade and Built to Last
The Fisch & Fang Hechtgranate is built by Hybrida Lures, handmade in Germany. The body is hand-painted and sealed with multiple coats of clear lacquer, leaving pike teeth with very little chance of causing lasting damage. Running through the entire lure is a continuous stainless steel wire shaft - equally well-made and just as robust. The high-quality spinner blades come from the USA and are manufactured by Worth. They run extremely freely and are available in 2 variants: brass (gold) and nickel-plated (silver), both featuring a hexagonal pattern.
A Proper Mouthful with Great Action
The Fisch & Fang Hechtgranate draws pike in through its appearance and its action - a combination of body vibration and turbulence from the spinner blade. To make sure it's not just the action but also the sheer size of the lure that appeals to Esox, it comes in a length that puts most standard jig spinners to shame:
- Size M = body 7.5 cm, total length including spinner blade 14 cm
- Size XL = body 8.5 cm, total length including spinner blade 15 cm
That's noticeably larger than virtually any standard jig spinner - which goes a long way to explaining why the Hechtgranate performs so well on pike.

The processing of the pike grenade is very strong. Anyone who likes to go out and about on perch with jig spinners will love pike with the pike grenade.

The pike grenade is great. Driven by the fish & catch videos and immediately caught a 1.10m pike with it during the first use in the Netherlands.

Bait itself cuts a good figure, unfortunately the rear vertebra is defective and the grenade therefore does not run at all. With support, I was able to return the item and I am now curious whether there will be a 1:1 exchange.

Unfortunately, after a few throws, the spinner leaf fell off. The fairly thin snap ring has bent open as a result of the vibration. Really stupid because the bait isn't exactly cheap.

Bait really makes a good impression, but it easily goes wrong. Not good for the price.
