Berkley is an American manufacturer with an extensive range of effective lures at fair prices.

Prop Bait with an Oversized Propeller

At first glance, the Berkley Choppo looks like a classic prop bait - but the propeller has been designed to offer an exceptionally large surface area for maximum commotion. It's a proper wake bait that'll get the attention of perch, pike and largemouth bass alike. The combination of that increased surface area and the angled blade edge also means it gets going quickly, even at low retrieve speeds. If you're after a lure that needs no fuss to fish, this is it. The Choppo works from the moment you start winding it in - no rod twitching or additional animation required. Simply varying your retrieve speed changes the intensity of the splash. Fish it along bankside cover or force savage surface strikes over weed beds on open water. Compared to poppers and stickbaits, it handles floating debris - leaves, grass and the like - with far more composure and stays on track even after contact.

The Berkley Choppo comes fitted with 2 razor-sharp, strong Fusion19 treble hooks and is available in a range of highly natural colour patterns as well as bold shock colours - there's something here for every situation.

How to Fish It

The Choppo needs no rod work - just cast it out and wind it back. Varying your retrieve speed is all it takes to dial up or dial down the splash. Work it along bankside cover or bring it over weed beds on open water to draw up aggressive surface takes. It handles floating debris better than poppers or stickbaits and stays stable even after bumping into it.
