Pressure Waves and Visual Triggers: The Spin Tail Jig
The spin tail jig market is crowded, but the Polish lure workshop SpinMad has carved out a firm reputation for quality that sets it apart from the competition.
Medium Spin-Jig
At 14 g and 7 cm, this sits in the middle of the SpinMad range and covers a wide range of situations when you're after perch, zander and pike.
Effective Details and Quality Construction
SpinMad spin tail jigs are built to a high standard throughout. Their oversized eyes draw predators in for a closer look, and once a fish takes, the sharp double hook gives a reliable hold all the way to the net. Like every spin tail jig, the Colorado blade is the defining feature - SpinMad mounts it on a barrel swivel at the rear of the body. The blade throws off strong flashes of reflection that attract predators from distance, depending on how coloured the water is and the angle of the light. The vibrations the lure produces are just as important, stimulating the lateral line and pulling fish in from a wide area.
How to Fish It
A simple, steady retrieve will catch fish with any spin tail jig, but you can get more out of it by adding irregular pauses. When you stop the retrieve, the lure tumbles towards the bottom like a stunned fish - and that's when bites often come. You can also work these lures with a jigging action along the bottom, which mimics a fleeing prey fish for nearby predators.
The 14 g version is particularly well suited to targeting perch and zander, and the body shape supports a fast sink rate, which means you can fish it effectively in deeper water too.
Wide Colour Range
SpinMad spin tail jigs come in a large number of different colours. Lieblingsköder has also released several special colour options for this lure.
Please note: selected colour options are not supplied in original packaging. These include:
- Cookie
- Future
- Laser

Originals 14 g Green Lemon LK Sonderfarbe
Top search baits, even on difficult days. My top bait in Sweden was for perch. But he also outsmarted one or the other pike.
Originals 14 g Ayu
Future special color, catchy color in cloudy lakes I love this color combination when nothing works, it always brings a perch or two on board. In fact, I think jigspinners are modern spinners, and we all know that spinners always work.
